A dated kitchen with a closed-off pantry and wine nook, rebuilt around charcoal cabinetry, Art Deco tile and warm brass.
Most bathrooms hedge. This one does not. A deep, variegated blue hexagon tile runs across the shower floor and up the full height of the wall, wrapping the space in a single colour and letting the glaze do the work as the light moves across it.
The shower is curbless, so the floor runs flat out of the wet area into the room, which looks cleaner and is considerably easier to live with. Brass fittings, a rainfall head, a handheld and a recessed niche picked out in the same brass complete the wall.
Against it, soft white brick tile and plantation shutters keep the rest of the room quiet, so the blue stays the only thing asking for attention.
