The gap between the person who draws your renovation and the person who builds it is where most budgets and timelines go to die.

How It Works

In the traditional arrangement you hire a designer, take their drawings out to bid, and discover the design costs half again what you planned. Then the redesign starts and the schedule slips.

Design-build closes that gap. Our designers price as they draw, with our own construction team and trade partners weighing in before anything is finalised. You leave the design phase with detailed drawings, real selections and an itemised fixed-price budget, rather than a beautiful rendering and a question mark.

Concept phase

Up to twenty design hours, three designer meetings, measurements, as-built drawings, renderings and a budget range.

Specification phase

Final selections walked through with our trade partners, then detailed drawings and an itemised fixed price.

In-house design center

Cabinetry, tile, counters and fixtures under one roof, with a designer guiding the selections.

Construction management

A lead carpenter and project manager on your job, with progress tracked through BuilderTrend.

What kinds of projects does MUSE take on?

We are a design-build firm handling custom home renovations: kitchen remodels, bathroom transformations, large-scale interior renovations and new construction. Design and construction are both in house, so one team carries your project from the first drawing through the final walkthrough.

How does the design process work?

It starts with a free consultation covering your ideas and a preliminary budget. From there you work with a MUSE designer in our Concord showroom to choose products and materials, and we finalise the budget against those selections before the build phase begins.

What areas do you serve?

We work with homeowners across the Greater Charlotte area, including Concord, Kannapolis, Davidson, Mooresville, Salisbury, Matthews, Waxhaw and Pineville, along with Lake Wylie, Tega Cay and Fort Mill in South Carolina.

How long does a kitchen or bathroom remodel take?

Planning and pre-ordering materials takes roughly five to eight weeks before anyone picks up a tool. On site, a bathroom typically runs eight to ten weeks and a kitchen eight to twelve weeks or more, depending on the scope. You get a schedule before work starts.

Will I be able to use the room while you work?

Usually not the room being remodelled. Demolition, plumbing and electrical work make a bathroom unusable for most of the project, so plan to use another one. We sequence the work to keep the rest of your home livable and disruption as short as possible.
